Candidate Profile

As a Lubricants Business Manager you will possess the following:

Appropriate business degree
• >10 years’ experience in Lubricants Management, sales and marketing environment
• Appropriate knowledge of the products and their potential applications in the industry
• Applied sales management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Knowledge and application of TMSA code of conducts and ethics
• Knowledge and application of TMSA policies and procedures.

Activities

As a Lubricants Business Manager you will be responsible for the following activities:

Strategy: Develop the lubricants strategic roadmap for sales, marketing and technical.
Sales
• Deliver the Lubricants roadmap and business objectives (in line with LIB program recommendations / TMSA lubricants Roadmap);
• Deliver on sales budgets and ensure profitable sales; ensure effective costing and tariff/revenue management for all products
• Set up and manage effective commercial reporting program and decision making process;
• Develop new markets and business opportunities through innovate products and offers, improve top tier sales and overall product mix;
• Drive customer centricity and ensure improved customer service;
• Manage overall credit for the department; ensure customers pay within agreed credit terms and resolve all claims and credit related issues;
• Establish and manage the relevant marketing policies and oversee the execution and implementation thereof; Develop innovative marketing programs that support the sales strategy and help build the company and product brand awareness in key segments
• To interpret variance analysis, prepare and present Commercial Business Review for the lubricants business;
• To review and adapt the product range based on the market requirements and changing OEM specifications; manage the PLCM process to ensure overall SKU and range management and avoidance of dead stock
• To ensure the technical services are provided and quality is maintained regarding the product and services offered;
• Ensure the technical and commercial proficiency of the sales teams.
• Facilitate effective cross functional collaboration in the best interest of building TMSA customer base
• Build the required capabilities in Lubricants team to identify potential New Energies opportunities for TMSA both within existing and potential customers

HSEQ: Ensure team’s adherence and compliance to company HSEQ and security standards, (Golden rules and Near miss reporting), so as to minimise risks pertaining to company assets and protection of life. Meet requirements in terms of Joint management and Safety tours.
To effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring:
• Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements
• Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies
• That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility
Governance: Ensure effective risk management and internal control. This includes asset management for the area of direct responsibility.
General: Critical skills identified, succession plan in place, ensure annual review in place including better together program, effective

Context & Environment

Challenge is to achieve an effective balance between daily operational issues whilst focusing on high delivering high level strategic business objectives for TMSA.
• Identify financially viable solutions for customers to ensure long term sustainable and profitable business in a highly contested market
• Other internal and external constraints which make this job challenging are an uncertain regulatory environment, general skills shortage and high subsequent turnover; BBBEE compliance for people management
