  • At least fifteen years' experience in the gas industry, in Operations, during field assignments at gas liquefaction plants and in "support" units of these plants
  • Very good knowledge of the processes used in gas liquefaction plants (hot and cold parts) and of the operation of the main equipment that makes them up, such as turbines, exchangers, compressors, turbo expanders, pumps, etc.
  • Knowledge of the main regulations, codes and standards governing the Oil & Gas industry and LNG in particular
  • Rigorous work ethic and strong customer experience with the aim of providing a quality service
  • Ability to manage several subjects at once: studies and requests for assistance

Activities

The company is adapting its strategy in response to the tremendous transformation of the world in favor of a clean and affordable energy supply for all. To this end, the growth in LNG sales in TotalEnergies' portfolio is expected to be multiplied by 2 between 2019 and 2030. The associated growth in LNG production will be supported by several projects identified and under development, and others to come.

The development of alternative energies (biogas, H2, NH3) and the implementation of solutions to reduce the carbon footprint are also necessary to meet TotalEnergies' commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across all its assets. The Customer Line Gas & LNG Operations (CL GLNG/OPS) entity within the OneTech organization aims to support TotalEnergies' ambitions in these respects.

CL GLNG's Operations engineers are heavily involved in this exciting adventure, not only to support the growth of liquefied gas, but also to promote technical innovations and optimize current cryogenic processes.

As an LNG Operations Engineer, your main role will be to support the assets in operation by providing high-quality technical assistance (to date, the LNG assets in which the Company has a stake are OBOs, i.e. assets operated by another operator), to take part in the study and project phases (providing various deliverables such as the operating philosophy, the innovative operating model and associated organization, the OPEX assessment, etc.). You will also take part in qualification sessions for new technologies.

You will carry out, manage, or validate the "Operations" parts of development studies from the "prospect" level to the pre-FEED level for TotalEnergies' various customers and operational branches. You will also provide support for projects in the FEED or EPC phase, depending on the needs expressed.

You will be heavily involved in drawing up HSE and technical feedback reports (REX) based on information gathered from assets operated by TotalEnergies or by other companies (OBOs). You will participate in the development of internal know-how and help to develop junior or less experienced operations staff in the field of LNG.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of the detailed activities you will be responsible for or taking part in:

  • Coordinate technical assistance with subsidiary staff supervising assets in operation => act as asset focal point at head office for the asset concerned
  • Define the specifications for the studies needed to solve the technical problems identified by the customer; manage and coordinate the team responsible for carrying out these studies
  • Reviewing and commenting on the analysis reports issued by the asset operator following an HSE event or technical incident leading to a production stoppage or not // Issuing notes and internal feedback associated with these events
  • Optimizing on-site operations and associated processes such as "energy efficiency", "maximizing production" or "reducing greenhouse gas emissions"
  • Contributing to the preparation and/or validation of "Operations" deliverables as part of development studies: operating philosophy, OPEX, organization, comparison of technical offers, etc.
  • Commenting on documentation issued by contractors during studies and projects
  • Taking part, as Operations representative, in technical reviews organized as part of studies or projects (project reviews, PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZID / ENVID / HAZOP 3D model reviews, technological qualifications, etc.).

Context & Environment

TotalEnergies' new entity, OneTech, brings together all the departments in charge of technical and R&D issues in support of the Company's Exploration & Production, Refining & Chemicals, Marketing & Services and Gas, Renewable Energies & Power Business Units.

With a workforce of 3,400, OneTech is divided into three poles: an industrial pole, which supports the company's development in the fields of hydrocarbons, renewable energies, electricity, and carbon emissions reduction. This pole also provides the necessary support and assistance to the various assets in operation throughout the world; a research and development pole, which brings together all TotalEnergies' research activities to promote the company's transformation; and finally, a support entity, which enables OneTech to function optimally.

OneTech, integrating all the company's technical and R&D expertise, is playing a major role in transforming TotalEnergies into a multi-energy company.

TotalEnergies is a global multi-energy company engaged in the production and supply of various forms of energy: oil and biofuels, natural gas and green gases, renewables, and electricity. Its 105,000 employees are committed to providing increasingly affordable, clean, reliable, and accessible energy to a wide audience. Present in over 130 countries, TotalEnergies places sustainability at the core of its projects and operations to contribute to the well-being of communities.
