Candidate Profile

  • 1-2 years’ experience as maintenance technician
  • A clean and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work logically to diagnose and fault find
  • Ability to follow safe working practices and Company Rules
  • Knowledge of working safely with electrical circuits and equipment
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and to use all PPE provided for those conditions,
  • Good understanding of the Windows IT environment and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of 4G routers, network switches and communication equipment advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and software as they evolve

Activities

  • Carry out the commissioning of equipment on site in accordance with Company Rules
  • Carry out curative and preventive maintenance of equipment on site in accordance with Company Rules
  • Checking and testing the functionality and good working order of the equipment
  • Carrying out diagnosis and fault finding on all Source London charging equipment
  • Checking and debriefing your work using in-house apps, tools and platforms
  • Areas of intervention include but are not limited to: charge point hardware, electrical components, communication equipment and human interface devices
  • Carry out the half yearly Safety Checks on the equipment following the company procedures
  • Taking part in the out-of-hours on-call rota to have 24/7 coverage for emergencies


Context & Environment

Source London is one of the largest providers of on street chare points in London. Maintaining a network of over 2200 charge points with a reliability rate of 98%. 

Each site has a feeder pillar and between 1 and 5 charge points. The sites are mostly located curb side on public streets. Allowing EV users to park and charge in any bay with its dedicated charge point. The charge points require a yearly safety check and bi-annual RCD safety test. During the rest of the year we maintain a reactive and preventative maintenance programme to keep the charge points and feeder pillars healthy and safe to use.

As a Field Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a busy, established team of professionals. You will be responsible for carrying out various maintenance work, both curative and preventive as well as commissioning and troubleshooting of new EV charging infrastructure while adhering at all times to safe working practices in compliance with Company Rules.
