Candidate Profile

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with preferably relevant experience in the power system, renewable energy (offshore wind), and high-voltage transmission industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to work in a dynamic environment alongside people with multiple interests and backgrounds
  • Desire for electrical equipment at construction sites
  • Desire in offshore wind engineering or power systems industries, generation, transmission and distribution
  • Desire to evaluate and analyze cable studies designs
  • Desire to evaluate and analyze HVDC and GIS (SF6) technologies
  • Desire to evaluate and analyze power system models results and reports
  • •Desire to evaluate and analyze the use of international electrical standards, RTO, and Utility codes/standards
  • Self starter. 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical Skills. 
  • Effective communicator for collaborating with international multidisciplinary team. 
  • Attention to details in design and documentation.
  • Time management and organizational abilities to meet project deadlines, proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

 



Activities

Day to Day Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in strategic analysis of the RTO / ISO interconnection procedures, and transmission system
  •  Participate in managing interconnection requests, review NYISO / PJM study results
  • Participate in reviews of onshore and offshore export cable, HVDC stations, and inter array cables, design, engineering, construction, installation and operation processes.
  • Participate in meetings with Electrical package engineers and subject matter experts
  • Participate in conferences and trainings related to the Offshore Wind Industry and the Attentive Energy Project

Context & Environment

This is a paid internship in which the intern must be willing to work in office in our New York City office.  Internship will start in May 2024.
